The Event and Conference Blog is for event industry professionals, business owners and managers who strive to plan professional events and to be better Event Managers. You understand the power of live events but maybe you struggle with the difficulties of juggling time, budgets and other business demands.
The Event and Conference Blog is written by an experienced professional Event Planner and UK small business owner Becki Cross and with contributions from Event Manager, Helen Brady. The blog aims to inspire and raise standards in the industry. Sharing event planning and marketing tips, read the blog if you want to learn how to achieve and surpass your event objectives and get results.
Becki Cross is the Managing Director of Events Northern Ltd, a well respected event management company established in 2004. Based in Preston, Lancashire, Events Northern Ltd works nationally across the UK and Europe. Conferences are our primary passion, however we work on a wide variety of events including exhibitions, dinners, awards evenings, seminars, workshops, festivals, outdoor events, and hybrid events and this is reflected in the posts published on the Event and Conference Blog. As well as writing about conferences, event management, industry events and event technology we also cover marketing, social media, blogging, innovation and other SME business issues.
Becki believes that more event managers should be blogging (see post: The Event Industry and Blogging: Are Event Managers Missing a Trick). Becki enjoys networking with other event bloggers and participating in Twitter chats such as #EventBlogChat.
Becki was integral in establishing the UK Blog Awards in its first year.
This blog was originally set up in 2010 on WordPress.com and in 2014 we migrated to a self hosted blog. This blog exists simply because we enjoy writing it (“writing is good for the soul”) and because we feel that as a business/SME blogging is important, even though it is not always easy to find the time! We decided that the Event and Conference Blog should be independent to our company website to maintain an independent voice and allow us to speak freely and accept guest blog posts. We do however wish we could dedicate more time to our blogging endeavours. We are also enjoying developing our own photography skills via our mobile phones and photo editing apps, and more recently with the purchase of a Canon EOS 700D.
Our blog is read by event managers and other event industry professionals, business owners and managers. It is also accessible to anyone that has a passion for live events or organises events as part of their job role.
