Hull for UK City of Culture 2017

Blog-Every-Day-in-November-with-RosaliliumToday the topic for #BEDN is ‘Favourite Folk.’ As shared in my earlier blog post My Hometown I am extremely proud of my Yorkshire roots. I want to dedicate this blog post to Hull and its people in support of their bid to become UK City of Culture 2017.  The bid is being led by the city council, which has promised to deliver a £15m programme of events in 2017 if it is successful.

As part of their bid presentation Hull have created a fantastic video which captures the quirks and spirit of the place. I particularly love the ‘Rules of Hull!’. It actually made me feel quite emotional watching this. You can watch the video below: Hull for UK City of Culture 2017 Bid Film

Hull is up against a final shortlist of Leicester, Dundee and Swansea Bay. The announcement will be made on 20th November 2013.

Hull (‘ull) – good luck- we are rooting for you!
